One day – new song from prison by Joke K.

Hi you fellow pirates out there!

I miss all your voices, to hear you directly, unfiltered and uncontrolled. But I know you are there and that is a comfort and good to know.

Outside, spring is bursting in an early explosion of singing birds. Last night, as a near full moon lit the sky, I’ve been writing another song for us. It’s also for the women in here, the many voices that wake up in this place every day. I hate it, its barred windows, the fences, the doors, every day I detest it more and more. But we all make it and we all fight for our dignity. Like a true pirate!

I greet you all, keep up the good work!

On 24 January, enemy forces arrested Joke kaviaar, one of YourLocalPirates, and took her away to an enemy fortress, ter Peel. She made them transfer to fort Nieuwersluis, much more accessible for pirate support. Op 24 januari hebben vijandelijke troepen Joke Kaviaar, één van Your Local Pirates, gevangengenomen en afgevoerd naar een vijandelijk fort, Ter Peel. Ze wist gedaan te krijgen dat ze werd overgeplaatst naar fort Nieuwersluis, een stuk bereikbaarder voor pirate support.

Een van ons twee dreigt door gezagsgetrouwe troepen ontvoerd te worden en voor twe en een halve maand in een vijandelijk fort te worden opgesloten. Dat gaan we toch niet accepteren? Toch?!

Your Local Pirates op jouw feestje/ Your Local Pirates at your party

Your Local Pirates op jouw eigen feestje?

Afgelopen zondag deed Your Local Pirates een optreden op ADM in Amsterdam. Binnenkort hopen we daarvan opnames te kunnen laten zien en horen.

Als je ons wilt uitnodigen om te komen spelen op jouw event/festival/demonstratie/manifestatie of anderszins, dan is dit handig om te weten:

We spelen voor ons plezier, en om bij te dragen aan de strijd voor een betere wereld voor menselijke en niet-menselijke dieren. Dat doen we dus in principe onbetaald. We vragen in het algemeen echter wel om reiskosten, anders wordt het tamelijk onmogelijk om naar onze eigen optredens te gaan. Een gratis maatlijd en een paar drankjes worden hogelijk gewaardeerd.

Last Sunday, we did a concert on ADM in Amsterdam. Soon, we hope to present audio and video recordings from that show.

If you ant to invite us to play on your event/festival/demonstratipon/rally or otherwise, here is what yu should know:

We play for our own fun and pleasure, and in the hope to contribute to the struggle for a better world for human and non-numan animals. In principle, we do it for free. However, we generally ask for travel expenses. Otherwise, going to our own concerts would become quite impossible. Free meals and a drink or two would be greatly appreciated.

Hi pirate comrades, squatters and other autonomous folk! We’ll be playing next Sunday,
December 9 at ADM Amsterdam.
You can find us during the evening program of Bike Fest in the bar.
Time: 9 PM.

After that there is jam session.
